Start of NGO Management Training Programme in Nigeria

Training the leaders in the non- profit sector of Nigeria

In June 2013 the NGO Management School in cooperation with the Business School Netherlands will start a training programme in Nigeria for professionals in the non-profit sector.
This programme has been designed for directors, heads of departments, team leaders and programme managers of NGOs and other non-profit organisations. The comprehensive capacity development programme leads to the Executive Certificate in NGO Management.


9 Modules of 3 days and 3 Workshops

Every month, starting in June 2013 the participants follow a three-day course module from Friday to Sunday. The modules are based on the action-learning approach: real-life projects and case studies with group exercises, debates on good practices and lessons learned and simulations. The trainers have in-depth work experience in the non-profit sector, field and head quarters experience and share their skills and insights with participants of the courses. Every third month participants will meet in an additional one day workshop to consolidate their learning. Participants can obtain individual coaching during the course programme.


Cooperation of Swiss certified NGO expert and Dutch nr 1 provider of management trainings

The NGO Management School is an international expert in management trainings and capacity building programmes for NGO staff and non-profit professionals. The school is part of the NGO Management Association, an independent Swiss NGO. We provide high quality training courses for NGO and non-profit professionals all over the world. The courses have a global reputation for excellence and are certified by EduQua, the Swiss label of quality management in education.

The Executive Certificate is organised in close cooperation with the Business School Netherlands (BSN), voted as the No 1 provider of management programmes in the Netherlands. BSN has an outstanding programme of Action Learning for current and future managers in 16 countries. It started its activities in Nigeria in 2003 to facilitate African managers in developing their management skills, knowledge, research capabilities and ability to take action with regards to the problems, prospects and challenges facing their organisations. The Lagos based school has MBA students, participants in its Master classes and Managements Competence Development Programmes in Lagos, Abuja and Ota.

Capacity building and support

The aim of the Executive Certificate programme is to enable key staff of non-profit organisations to become effective and efficient managers and leaders. Improved management of non-profit programmes enhances the impact of NGO programmes and ensures to deliver quality services to its beneficiaries.
