Board of Directors

 

AyodeleAderinwaleAyodele Aderinwale, MFR is the Chairman, Board of Directors, Business School Netherlands, Nigeria. He is also the West Africa Vice President of the African Union’s Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOC) for West Africa and the Executive Director of the Africa Leadership Forum (ALF) in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is an Alumnus of the United Nations University’s International Leadership Academy, and Harvard University’s Executive Programme for Leaders in Development. He also participated in the Salzburg Seminar, the Sixth Lisbon Youth Summit, and the Center for Advanced Studies in International Negotiation in Geneva, Switzerland.

He was the Lead Consultant for 2 years, on the Union Government Project that finally drafted the institution of having a United States of Africa. He is a close adviser and confidant of General Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is married to Tosin and has two sons, Damola and Doyin. He Chairs the Justrite Limited one of the largest superstores in Lagos and Ogun States. On the 21st December 2006, the President and Commander-in-Chief, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR conferred on him the National Honor of Member, Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

Dr AjayiDr. Olumide Abimbola Ajayi holds a Ph.D. in Agric Economics, Planning and Management from the University of Ibadan. He is the Deputy Director and Chief of Programmes of the Africa Leadership Forum (ALF) and Director of Business School Netherlands International (BSNI), Nigeria as well as the Project Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Lagos. Prior to this time, he has worked as private sector executive manager in various organizations and capacities as well as holding research and teaching positions in the University.

He has, of recent, consulted for the United Nations, African Union Commission, and Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) and several other organisations. Dr Ajayi is a Fellow of the Centre for Applied Studies in International Negotiation (CASIN), Geneva, Switzerland and the International Leadership Academy, Gummersbach, Germany.
In addition, he has also served on several expert groups such as African Union Gender Working Group (2004), Task Force on Common Agricultural Policy for West Africa (2004), FIX NIGERIA Working Group (2006), UN Global Compact Coordinating Group for the Annual Forum of Local Networks (2006-2008).

Head hunted by Drs. Dick Gerdzen, the founder of BSN, Juanita started her career in September 2000. As the Head of English Programmes and Partner Support, she quickly gained a feel for international business and has developed good work relationships with partners, staff and tutors world wide. She completed her MBA (Cum Laude) at BSN in 2010 and was promoted to CEO of Business School Netherlands in 2012.  For her, the growth in the South African market in the early 2000’s and the establishment of BSN Nigeria in 2004, the second school on the African continent.”What excites me about BSN is the positive impact that we get to make, no matter how big or small. I’m also excited about the addition of each new market, giving rise to the opportunity to grow the Action Learning Community. Lastly, seeing students learn and grow excites me personally.”

 

Dr GerdzenDrs D.J.Gerdzen – Founder and Chairman of the Board of Business School Netherlands.

As an ambitious young man, Drs. Gerdzen worked as Head Development & Education at one of the larger Dutch companies. In 1988 he was inspired to start Business School Netherlands as he realised that there was a significant gap between what managers wanted to learn as opposed to what they were taught in existing management programmes. He is a father of five and grandfather of seven. Having passed the respectable age of 70, he continues to be a true businessman and seeks every opportunity that aids in satisfying his entrepreneurial spirit.

Mr AdelekeAdedayo Adeleke: joined BSNI in May, 2008 and is the Finance & Admin Officer of the school in Nigeria with over 13 years working experience. He is in charge of financial records, banking relations and handles all administrative duties of the School. He is married and blessed with a daughter.

 

 

 

 

 

Morenike AdeyeyeMorenike Adeyeye is the Operations Manager of BSNI (Nigeria). She is one of the 2012 MBA Graduates from BSN with her first degree in Accounting in 2001. Morenike has been with the Business School since April, 2004 and has found friendship in each of the students she has met through BSN.  Action Learning transcends school work, it builds relationships and as it builds relationships it builds you most importantly. Currently coordinate registration of students, workshop participants, supervises workshop activities and provides feedback to the Central Registry. Morenike is married to Gbenga Adeyeye and they are blessed with two boys Made & Lade.

 

 

 

NazlieNazlie Johnson is the Logistics and Registry Administrator.  Nazlie is the Logistics and Registry Administrator began her career at BSN in 2005, and quickly formed a good working relationship with her boss, Juanita Bouwer. Her responsibilities include that of Logistics which consist of the development of programme timetables, courseware administration for Ghana and previously Nigeria, and finalising tutor contracts. As Registrar for the IALMBA programme, she provides continuous support to international students.  Nazlie had the opportunity of attending Graduation 2010 in The Netherlands and admitted that this was one of the highlights of working at BSN. “I love working at BSN. I’ve formed many close, working relationships with staff, students and tutors over the years. When it comes to BSN, the feeling of being a part of the ‘BSN family’ excites me most.”

 

 

 

 

TopeIlesanmiOlutope Ilesanmi is a graduate of English & Literary Studies from the University of Ado-Ekiti, had his NYSC experience as a Marketing Associate with Business School Netherlands and later joined the services of Howes Consulting Group as a Business Development Executive. He is now back with BSN as a Business Associate.

 

 

 

 

YvetteYvette Baker is the Registry and Finance Administrator.  In the early years, Yvette performed many roles and her responsibilities included everything from courseware administrator, registry, and admissions, to finance and so on. Currently, she serves as Registry for BSN’s African partners (Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria and Tanzania) and also performs the function of Finance Administrator for BSN’s Cape Town office and various global Partners. Her highlights of working at BSN includes the previous South African graduation in 2008, Graduation 2010 which was her very first trip to The Netherlands, and her first trip to Nigeria in March 2010. Having worked at BSN for the past 17 years and interacting closely with students, she values the many opportunities of learning about and understanding different cultures, and is also proud of her students accomplishments.

Dr. Herman J. van Niekerk is a director at Suritec (Pty) Ltd, a South African company specialising in knowledge management, organisational learning, strategy and collaborative technologies. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Stellenbosch where his research focused how different theories of knowledge impact on the creation of organisational knowledge and competitiveness.
He is a practicing consultant specialising in the strategic drivers which are shaping the knowledge society. These include how information and collaborative technology enable competitive strategic advantage., as well as the change management interventions required to achieve these changes.

Herman lectures part-time for Business School Netherlands and the Global Institute for Management and Technology (GIMT). He serves as an external examiner for both masters’ and doctorate programmes for a number of universities and private business schools. He is a board member for the Centre of Information and Knowledge Management at University Johannesburg, RSA. He is also a regular speaker at conferences on thought leadership issues related to the strategic development of organizations. He regularly conducts workshops and training sessions for corporate clients and private business schools.

Andrew is the head of Riskflow Institute, a division of Riskflow (Pty) Ltd responsible for the provision of advisory and contracting services in the areas of finance, treasury and risk management. The Institute seizes and maintains intellectual leadership by conducting research and training,

Andrew’s skills set covers several areas of specialty including finance, economics, financial engineering and risk management.

He has over 10 years of experience from a public and private sector perspective, covering fields of expertise in finance, treasury and risk management such as Government budgeting, revenue and debt management; corporate planning and budgeting; cash and investment management; asset and liability management; financial and risk governance; and capital markets and financial derivatives. He has experience in public finance management and compliance with the PFMA.

Andrew has an extensive knowledge of asset and liability management practices with a proven track record of successful project execution in the areas of ALM framework development, policy formulation and systems implementation, He has practical knowledge and extensive experience in the application of the ALMAN software, and has successfully implemented it for several clients in both public and private sectors.

Andrew is involved in the implementation of TASMAN at National Discount House in Zimbabwe.

Robin Stoutjesdijk is a member of the Institute of Directors’ Sustainability Portfolio Sub-committee, the SA Board for Personnel Practice’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Committee and has independent, non-executive Board and Audit Committee exposure and experience.

He lectures/facilitates/tutors in areas which also add value to him as consultant. These were/are predominantly on distant learning MBA programmes. The subjects/topics in question are Fundamentals of Senior Management, Human Resources Management, Management at the Functional Level, Organizational Development, Organizational Structure, Management of Operations and Services, Management Accounting, Organizational Behaviour, Decision-Making, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Management Statistics, Financial Accounting, and Strategy.
This is in addition to integrated Certificate and Diploma programmes in the management field. He wears multiple hats such as academic supervisor, course team leader, examiner, and moderator.

He is a registered Assessor and a Moderator with both the Banking Sector Education and Training Authority ETQA (BANKSETA) and the Services Education and Training Quality Assurance Authority ETQA (Services SETA).

He has public speaking experience, has been on national radio, has been published and has facilitated workshops from in-house up to national level.

Ahmed Babatunde Popoola is the CEO of Credit Reference Company, Lagos.
In this capacity, he provides leadership for the organization whose mandate is to enhance economic empowerment in FCT by facilitating activities and programmes that will improve opportunities for people to realize their potentials through the creation and growth of their businesses. Prior to this, he was in the banking industry where he rose to the position of a General Manager.

Further more he is a Fellow at Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), a Fellow at Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) and a Fellow at Chartered Institutue of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

Van Zijl Benardus has a broad range of experience in the management and training community in SA. He studied BA (Anthropology and Africa Studies), BTh and Licentiate in Theology at the University of Stellenbosch following this with an MTh at UNISA, studying the using of art genres to promote communication within faith based organisations. He completed a DTh at UNISA, doing a comparative study between the communication processes of proclamation and advertising. He completed an MBL (Masters in Business Leadership) at UNISA, specializing in “Branding, a key to marketing leisurewear to teenagers”, with a large scale research project with kids and teenagers in SA.
Bernie is the founder of 360 Degrees Marketing and Advertising (Pty) Ltd in 2008, a consultancy that assisted a variety of organisations in the fields of specialist training pertaining to leadership, marketing and tourism. He is a sought after speaker with numerous radio/television talks to his credit. He facilitates business subjects for MBA and other postgraduate management programmes, specializing in e-commerce, Knowledge Management and Management of Technology and Marketing.

Mr Segun Akintunde: Olusegun Akintunde, a dynamic and resourceful individual with extensive background and experience in Strategic Management, Marketing and Sales across the key sectors of the Nigeria economy. He started his career in Shell Marketing (National Oil & Chemical Marketing Company, NOLCHEM), first in Corporate Strategic Planning Division and later in Sales & Marketing, and Management. Besides, Akintunde worked in Pharmaceutical Sector where he held progressively responsible management positions (Locally and internationally) in Ciba-Geigy, Ltd (now NOVARTIS, a Swiss company), Bayer Pharmaceuticals (a German company), Associated Match Industries Ibadan, Grand Cereals & Oil Mills, Jos (a Subsidiary of UACN) and in an NGO (Mashiah Foundation as Director of Projects & Programme). As part of his contributions; he introduced new products, repositioned brands and entered new markets as well as improved efficiency and effectiveness to significantly increase output thus making stakeholders happy; in addition, he’s involved in policy formulation and implementation in all of the positions held.

YinkaFolami

Yinka Folami: A graduate of Geography and Regional Planning (Bsc.1988, Msc.1990), with professional post-graduate qualifications in Transport (Chartered Institute of Transport, London) and Administration (Nigerian Institute of Management). I also have an MBA on the Action Learning Programme of the Business School Netherlands, where I became the first recipient of the Award of Appreciation for contributing to the growth of the Business School in Nigeria. I have worked for over 22 years since graduation, during which period I developed competent special purpose, managerial, business performance and communication skills. In 2006, I was engaged as a Group Accounts Director (GM Business Unit 1) at Insight Communications Ltd with responsibilities for business development and financial performance of my business unit. I then returned to the Touchdown group in November 2010, which has become the biggest brand in travel in Nigeria, as the Chief Executive of Travel & Logistics Centre Limited (a franchise partner, affiliated to Touchdown).

My team and I are driven by a vision to create the most comfortable travel experience from Nigeria to the WORLD! I also offer strategic planning and advisory support to Touchdown on customer service administration. Beyond my business roles, I am further focused on actualizing, through board / executive-level private, institutional and public sector engagements. Presently, I am an Adviser on the Action Learning MBA of the Business School Netherlands and a member of the Purchase & Price Monitoring Committee of Ikoyi Club 1938. I am happily married to Justice Latifat Folami and blessed with 3 children, Morolayo, Ayodeji and Yinka (Jnr).

 

 

ISHOLA1Kunle Ishola: A 1981 Economics graduate of the University of Ibadan who also bagged an M.sc in Industrial and Labour Relations from same institution. He has vast experience in business management and facilitating business management programme and Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. He has been a set adviser with the school since 2008 and happily married with children.

 

 

 

 

JideOgunbanjoBabajide Ogunbanjo: Jide is graduate of Electrical Engineering and has a MBA from Business School Netherlands. He is an achiever with over 14 years of Techno-Commercial experience in ISP and Telecoms Industry. Prior to joining Gilat Satcom, he worked with SimbaNET Nigeria Limited as Head of Sales in 2006 and was promoted in 2008 as Profit Center Head, Satellite Business. Jide has also worked with Monarch Communication as the Business Development Manager (Data/ISP) and Linkserve Nig. Limited as Regional Director.

 

 

 

HALIMAHalima Umar: Has her background in medical science and became a certified customer service leader and trainer from the quality service institute in Minnesota USA. A skilled communicator and brilliant marketer with a strong backdrop and reputation for maintain business relationships. She offers support to many clients, hence providing excellent customer service. She enjoys challenging tasks, competitive situations and new activities. She is quick to act and create a sense of urgency in others. She uses direct action-oriented approach to solving problems.
